Welcome to Estevan!
Located only a short drive from the Canada/USA border is Saskatchewan's most southern city, Estevan. The city currently has a population of around 11,000 residents and continues to grow, with its major industries of coal, oil, gas, power and agriculture. The first settlers to the area arrived in 1892, with the expansion of the Canadian Pacific Railway. To learn more about the history of the area visit the Souris Valley Museum, which houses a variety of historical artifacts. Visitors can find out how Estevan earned its nickname of the —Energy City— by seeing the Shand Power Station and Shand Greenhouse. Families will appreciate the water slide and six lane swimming pool at the Souris Leisure Centre for a fun afternoon outing together. Popular summer local spots include the Boundary Dam and Rafferty Dam for boating, water activities and fishing. A good way to spend some downtime in Estevan is a stroll through the scenic Woodlawn Regional Park or sitting down for a relaxing meal in one of Estevan's many local restaurants.Tourist Attractions
